Philosophy

The Vallé Academy of Performing Arts (Founded in 1994) sets out to provide for students a base from which they are able to develop as individuals. They are encouraged to grow in confidence, as they enhance their knowledge and appreciation of all areas of the performing arts. The classes are designed to allow a student to start at any age (min. 3 years) and to be encouraged, and to remain interested until adulthood.

Students of all ages who attend The Vallé Academy experience a sense of belonging to a 'family' within which they feel secure and flourish. They come to realise that as members of a community, they must consider the needs of others, as well as themselves. In order to achieve this, students need to be able to express themselves and to explore their ideas and beliefs, as well as their emotions. However they need to pursue these, within a structured and organised environment. This places the onus on us, the teachers, to ensure that the influence as role models that we project to our students is positive and informed. They learn the importance of group and individual discipline.

Performance art have excited and stimulated performers and audiences throughout history, and one of our roles at the Vallé Academy is to provide the students with the tools and vocabulary with which to appreciate this more fully.
